I am soup so impressed with the upgraded magazine. The topics are incredibly interesting and drew me in. The writing is superlative. Lots of fresh thoughts. Great choices of interests from all over the globe. With most magazines, I pick and choose the articles I will read, and often I skip over many as they are not worthwhile. Conversely, the launch issue of 1843 absorbed me top to bottom, which I thoroughly enjoyed on an overseas flight from NY to London. Given I am interested in, and travel to, many parts of the globe, I really enjoyed the world purview of 1843. If this launch issue s any indication of what is to come, this will definitely be my favorite magazine!

The app works just fine. Its the content that is worthless. I read one issue through and found not one thing worth knowing. For an illuminating peek at what the affluent believe makes life worthwhile, try one issue, then dump the app before you throw up.

I love this magazine. My only complaint was that it wasnt on Newsstand now that its rectified it is a great magazine. The only complaint I have is lack of sharing. You cant tweet or share articles you like.

Its just so frustrating. My excitement to finally try the updated Retina IL was butchered by the "Couldnt update library, An error occurred" message. Now all my downloaded issues are gone, and only an empty magazine shelf remains. Pls fix it! Update: Its confirmed that your website (along with the app connection) is somehow blacklisted in the Chinese mainland, and Ive been using VPN services to retrieve all available issues for the past few days -- If it were not for your great mag, I wouldnt have gone into all these troubles. The download process is not yet perfect as there were many times when the connection broke up and the previously downloaded 100+plus M went back to 40M or something. And, Ill be more than happy to give full stars if the pre-Retina issues are all visually optimized and the very first 12 issues are all available!

This is one of the best magazines I have found for reading on my iPad. The stories are interesting, intelligent, attractively laid out, and easy to navigate. It has a British slant, of course, coming from the highly respected "The Economist." The ads are unobtrusive to say the least, and the price is right! Whats not to like?

Used to buy the hard copy whilst transmitting through Heathrow. The res something about England that wants to make you read. Nice of The Economist to offer this e version gratis. I hope it stays that way. By the way, it is always an absorbing and enjoyable read, just on the right side of the size issue. Articles measured to keep us interested in these days of info induced ADHD.

This app needs to be removed! I clicked on the icon just to see if I was interested in downloading the magazine. It crashed. It has crashed my entrance to the newsstand store which means I cant view any other magazines. Ive turned off the ipad to see if I can solve the problem that way. Doesnt work. Need technical help to solve problem. I hate this app!!!

These guys are just brain dead. Most apps know how to prevent installation on an Ipad 1 or continue to support it. Just warning users not to install is asking for unhappy subscribers. Not the first time theyve done this.

I click on the Economist icon and it takes me to this. I have NO option but to download it and I cant access the economist. Outstanding job.
