Eclectic, very well written, funny

The Economist has a culture, ideas and neat stuff sister publication.

While I listen to the audio edition of The Economist front to back, I find digitally flipping through the images and text in 1843 is better suited to the graphics.

Just about every issue has a seriously memorable article, usually worth forwarding by e-mail to my favorite folks.

Suggest you give it a try, as this is a remarkable publication.
